Andrea Hilliard was born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia. She grew up singing and playing music instruments for children’s ensembles. Andrea graduated from the University of Indonesia with a degree in French Language and subsequently studied music at Singapore Bible College, majoring in Voice. After coming to California in 2004, she pursued a Master of Music in Vocal Performance degree at Azusa Pacific University. Andrea joined KidSingers in the summer 2017 as Associate Conductor. Besides teaching at KidSingers, she is active as a professional singer with groups in Los Angeles and Orange Counties and as a soloist, adjudicating and giving training to church choirs. Andrea has taught piano and voice lessons and has directed many choirs of varying ages in churches and other locations. Andrea and her husband Don live in Anaheim with their feline boys, Dell and Taylor.
Dennis serves actively as a musician and teacher throughout Southern California. Dennis directed the Act 2 choir with KidSingers for the 2014-2016 seasons, and returned in 2019 to rejoin the KidSingers team. Dennis received his BM in Music Education, with Choral/Vocal and Piano emphases, from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at CSU Long Beach, as well as a BA in Theater Arts, and California teaching credentials in Music and Theater Arts. Dennis received his Master of Arts in Teaching with an emphasis in Social Justice and Equity from CSU, Fresno, and presently attends CSU, Channel Islands, working on his Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
YESENIA (YESI) GARCIA
Yesenia (Yesi) Navarro Garcia is a graduate of Chapman University where she received her degree in Choral Studies. Yesenia continued her studies at California State University, Fullerton, and received her teaching credential. She came to KidSingers in 2010 as an Associate Director and quickly won the admiration of staff and KidSingers alike. After three years with KidSingers, Yesenia took on a full-time choral music teaching position in the Palm Springs area. In the summer of 2016, she moved back to Orange County to teach elementary vocal music. She's currently teaching at El Sol Science & Arts Academy as a TK-5th vocal music teacher. With her return to Orange County, we welcomed Yesenia back to the KidSingers family to resume her work as Associate Director.
ITSAI CASILLAS SORIANO
After seven years in the KidSingers program, Itsai Casillas graduated in 2015 with $3,500 in KidSingers Scholarship money. Itsai is presently enrolled at the University of La Verne with a major in Business Administration. He came back to KidSingers to be an intern/associate director of MasterClass, as well as doing Production Management work. We are so proud to have “home grown” talent coming back to KidSingers teaching and giving of their time and talent to a program that meant so much to them in their development.
Guadalupe Casillas was an outstanding singer and soloist in KidSingers for seven years. She graduated in 2017 from Santa Ana High School and has come back to serve as an intern since her graduation. With scholarship funds from KidSingers, she attended Santa Ana College for two years, but is now full-time employed at T-Mobil. She and husband Itsai Casillas, have associate directed KidSingers’ MasterClass for the past three years to much success. For the past several years Lupe has also sung the perennial favorite, The Prayer, with KidSingers’ Founder/Artistic Director, Mr. Paul. She was promoted in 2021 to Associate Director.
Rigoberto Orozco joined the staff of KidSingers as Associate Director in 2021. Rigo received his degree in music from California State University, San Bernardino where he had the chance to co-direct with the LA philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall. Currently, he is currently returning to California State University, Fullerton to acquire his teaching credential. Rigo is also a board member and assistant director of Profectus Chamber Choir alongside Dalyn Shutts, who is the director of the choir. Rigo was both a substitute teacher and a children's choir director for a small after school tutoring program, Enlightened Learning Club (ELC).
